Jane Doe Hit by Alleged Drunk Driver Identified
| Jane Doe identified |
According to Rachael Kagan, spokeswoman for San Francisco General Hospital, the woman's family came to her bedside on Friday afternoon.
"The family has chosen not to release the patient's name and is declining interview requests," Kagan tells us.
The woman, who has been described as an Asian female in her 70s or 80s, was hit by a driver as she walked illegally across Van Ness on June 8, just before midnight. The woman, who was not in a crosswalk, was walking against a red light when the driver hit her.
She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries; however, police have not been able to identify the woman, nor has she been able to tell them who she is. She had no identification on her at the time of the accident.
Police arrested the driver, 41-year-old Douglas Perine, on suspicion of drinking and driving.
Let's just hope the ending gets even happier, and she recovers from her injuries.
