Bomb Squad Called to North Beach Home Last Night

The bizarre incident started at 4 p.m. when an employee at 101 Market Street noticed that one of her co-workers was "exhibiting signs of psychiatric distress," Officer Carlos Manfredi said.
The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for evaluation, and while talking to police, she said she had fired a round inside her home, Manfredi said. Officers went to her apartment on the 300 block of Columbus Avenue and, sure enough, found a bullet hole. Upon further investigation, police also found handguns and suspicious devices that they were unable to identify, Manfredi said.
The cops evacuated the apartment and called the bomb squad to the apartment building. They also closed off Columbus Avenue near Broadway and Grant Avenue as emergency crews combed through the scene. According to SF Appeal, police still had not determined whether the devices found were explosives.
