Someone could write a book about the weird stuff that happens at BART

A lot of unexplainable things happen at BART stations -- and here's one of them.

A 46-year-old man was reportedly found unconscious and bleeding at the El Cerrito BART station last week in what police are calling "a big mystery." A station agent found the man shortly after 7 p.m., after a BART rider reported that two men were fighting in the bus zone, according to police.

BART police spokeswoman Era Jenkins said today that the victim has been treated at a hospital and released. Sadly, he does not remember what happened at the BART station or how he got hurt.

Jenkins told KTVU that the man said he was missing money; it's possible he was robbed, she said.

BART police are asking for you East Bay commuters to help. If you saw anything that evening or have information about what happened, please call the BART police investigations section at (510) 464-7040 or the confidential hotline at (510) 464-7011. Tips can also be emailed to Detective Jon Woffinden at jwoffin@bart.gov.
