A San Francisco man with "extensive history with police" was booked into Santa Cruz jail last night after police found him hiding bloody clothes shortly after a woman was stabbed to death in broad daylight.

Police arrested the 44-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, and charged him with brutally stabbing to death a 39-year-old woman just before noon on Monday. The suspect's last known address was in San Francisco, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Several neighbors saw a man attacking the woman with a knife about 11:50 a.m. They called 911, and when police arrived, they found the Live Oak woman between a parked SUV and a black four-door Nissan.

Paramedics tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 p.m. Police set up a perimeter, and quickly found the 44-year-old suspect with blood on his clothing near Barson and Campbell streets. Police told the Merc he was trying to hide evidence when police "surprised" him. He did not resist arrest.

Police found both the knife and the man's jacket covered in blood on the street. The cops are still trying to determine the connection between the suspect and victim, noting that she was not robbed, nor do they suspect it was a gang-related killing.

SF Weekly contacted San Francisco police to learn more about the suspect's history with police, but no word back yet.

It was Santa Cruz's first homicide since April 2011.

I would be willing to be that this man has a long record of attacking women, and thus, keeps getting away with it because our leaders don't care what happens to women.  Look at that violent rapist in the Mission area, he got at least 3 women over months, and the cops didn't say a word, and when the story broke, a tip from the public busted him right away.  Now, if someone looks at a child wrong, there is a huge outcry . .. but with adult women, you're just bait for bad cops who can't find crooks and handed to a DA that makes more plea bargains than Hallinan on crack . ..and that is why men like this continue to attack women and we are not allowed to so much as defend ourselves.  Men tend to think that violence against women is a property crime, doesn't matter unless it's "your" woman being attacked by anyone but you, and women are so afraid of being called ":manhaters" for speaking out and objecting to male violence that they won't come forward as witnesses or say anything "mean" to men who attack women.  And so it goes.  Brownmiller's only flaw was that she didn't realize what sell out skags more women are.

This may sound like conservative mumbling, but if the courts didn't let him off so easy, that woman would would still be alive.
