William Castillo Identified as Man Murdered in Visitacion Valley; Homicide No. 27

(Original story 9:10 a.m.): A
Sgt. Daryl Fong said just after midnight, police responded to a Shotspotter activation near the 1700 block of Sunnydale. When they arrived, they found the victim between two buildings with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner's office tells us they have not yet identified the victim. Meanwhile, police have not arrested anyone and could not provide suspect information at this time.
The shooting marks the city's 27th homicide this year. Last weekend, 24-year-old Georgio Joseph and 54-year-old James Lee were shot and killed in two separate homicides.
