SFPD looking for sucker puncher
A 30-year-old man is in critical condition this morning after he was sucker-punched in Golden Gate Park Sunday afternoon, just a few blocks from the Bay to Breakers route, police said.

Officer Albie Esparza couldn't confirm whether the suspects or the victim had participated in the annual footrace; however, he said the attack happened just two hours after the race officially ended and when parts of the park were still closed.

At about 4:55 p.m., the victim got into a verbal argument with another man on the unit block of Kezar Drive near Sharon Meadows. As the two were fighting, a second man jumped in and hit the victim in the head, knocking him to the ground, Esparza said.

The victim was unconscious when paramedics arrived. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a life-threatening head injury.

The two suspects, who were only described as Hispanic men in their 20s, ran off and have not been found, Esparza said. However, there were plenty of witnesses who saw the argument unfold, and police are anyone with information about the incident to call police at 575-4444,  or text-a-tip to TIP411.

The man who was viciously beaten at Bay to Breakers passed away yesterday from his injuries. If anyone has any info on the person who did then come please forward. The assailant was wearing a white San Francisco 49rs jersey and was in a group of men also wearing white 49rs jersey along with girls in purple (one wearing an orange tutu). The man who passed away was such a wonderful, fun person and there are so many grieving friends and family members that need justice.

Why is there not more coverage of this story?  This reminds me of what happened to Brian Stow. These thugs need to be caught and thrown into jail for a very long time.  What is wrong with these people? They should nut-up and turn themselves in.  Take responsibility for what they did and be a warning to all thug gang-bangers out there who think sucker punching a person is the thing to do.  A bunch of animals!

Well, I'm sorry to say but that won't happen.  A very similar thing happened to me in 2006 and I've got five titanium plates in my face for a souvenir. Luckily we caught the guy and he did three and a half years in San Q.  There's a friend of the guy looking for pics from the race that might have the suspect in them.  It's here: Help r/SanFrancisco! A friend was attacked at B2Bs, and is in critical condition. Help identify the perp!

If anybody reading this was in the area, that's a way to get in touch and make a difference.  Or forward this around to anybody you know who ran it and might have pics.  If there were plenty of witnesses, I'll bet there was at least one cell phone picture taken.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time.  With so many people taking pictures that day someone is bound to have snapped a picture of the suspects. The real trick is letting those people know to look at their pictures.

I'm sorry you had to suffer through a similar experience, but at least the thug that did that to you was made to pay for his actions.
