Elderly Woman Carjacked in Financial District, Two Arrested
Officer Albie Esparza says the 83-year-old woman was parked in her van on the corner of Battery and Washington streets at about 1:40 a.m. when two men approached her and ordered her and another person out of the car. The men got in the car and sped toward the Bay Bridge.
Police spotted the Ford van on the Bay Bridge and began chasing after the car.
The driver led police to the West Grand exit in Oakland, where one of the suspects jumped from the moving car, Esparza said. Oakland police chased down the suspect and arrested him.
The driver continued and made it to Maritime Street in Oakland, where he was stopped and hauled to jail.
Police arrested 42-year-old Floyd Jordan of Oakland and 34-year-old Gabriel Jordan on suspicion of carjacking, robbery, conspiracy, evasion, and resisting arrest. Esparza didn't know if the two were related.
They were both booked into San Francisco County Jail.
