Walk to Work Tomorrow and Win Prizes

As part of National walk to Work Day, WalkSF is asking all San Franciscans to hike to their place of employment tomorrow and then tweet about it or post about their trek on Facebook. In exchange, the nonprofit group will enter those sauntering San Franciscans into a prize drawing where participants can win a bunch of cool stuff from Sports Basement and other outdoorsy retailers.
"We're looking forward to hearing what people notice when they walk," said Elizabeth Stampe, executive director of Walk San Francisco, the city's pedestrian advocacy group. "What are the best parts of your walk? What feels unsafe? What would encourage you to walk more?"
To play this game, here's what you do: First be sure to "like" Walk SF on Facebook and/or follow Walk SF on Twitter. This way Walk SF can direct-message you if you win.
Next step: Walk to work.
If you plan to share your walking experience via Twitter then do so using the hashtag #walk2workSF, or share the "I walked to work today!" image from Walk SF's Facebook page.
"San Francisco is one of the best cities in the country for commuting on foot. Plus, it's a good time to see how the city could improve conditions to make your walk even better," Stampe said.
So get your walking shoes on tomorrow, and start your new commute. Let's just hope nobody gets hit by a Muni bus on their walk into work.
