Tea Party to Land in San Francisco Waving NOBAMA Foam Fingers

Okay, fine, but are they at least Giants fans?
You can always bank on it being a good time when Tea Partiers descend on San Francisco for the day.

Those obnoxiously hardcore conservatives are planning to flood Justin Herman Plaza on Saturday, where 10 Bay Area Tea Party groups will spend three hours demonstrating ... oh, where to start?

"The whole world knows it's crazy here," according to a flyer from the group. "San Francisco is symbolic: the cradle for progressivism in America."

The Tea Party claims this demonstration, which starts at 1 p.m., will be a "head-turner," although its only real plan of action is to stand on the Embarcadero and wave around "NOBAMA 2012" foam fingers.

Sounds like they could really use some pointers from Occupy SF on how to protest in the park.

Yes, you can expect to hear some lamenting about Obamacare to accompany those foam fingers. The flyer also says the TP will feature participants telling their own stories. Here's a video made by the Tea Party to give you the gist of what's to come:

But back to those foamy Obama fingers. Here's what we want to know: What good will it do to wave around what are traditionally baseball props, especially during the second game of the Giants' Opening Week?

To read the comments below is to understand why SF was leveled in 1906.Guess you didn't get God's message.Sodom and Gomorrah are alive and well in the city by the bay.

I moved here to get away from the teabaggers in Florida. I'm far too liberal for the south.

Obama's been a terrible president - but most of his abuses and failures have been versions of "Acting Like A Republican" or "Chickening Out To Republican Bullying" or "Not Being Able To Fix Bush's Economic Damage".  I'd rather not elect him again, but the Republicans are way too corrupt at the top and crazy at the bottom to trust them with power for the next few decades.

Fortunately, since California's going to vote solidly for the Democrats in the fall election, it's safe to vote third party as usual.  In my case that's Libertarian, but I'd still vote for most Greens or independents before most Democrats.

I am totally going to be there to see this. Hope Occupy shows up. And the riot squad.

When O came to SF, SF Weekly announced it in an article and said O is coming to SF where no one will wag their fingers in his face like Jan Brewer..."  So, we wagged our fingers in his face....

Can we have Chris Bucchere and his friends ride around Justin Herman plaza that day?

I'm tempted to show up at Justin Henry Plaza waving a bunch of Lipton teabags myself.

(And yeah, seriously, can we rename the plaza for the Justin H that most people remember?)

Now THAT is something I can agree on!People are allowing themselves to believe that either party really gives a darn about them when in reality the leadership only cares when it suits them,

The regressive Republican Party of No is obstructionist, mean-spirited, thuggish, religiously fanatical, scientifically ignorant, corrupt, hypocritical, xenophobic, racist, sexist, homophobic, evolution and global warming denying, oily, anti-environment, anti-health, anti-consumer, anti-choice, anti-education, anti-99%, union busting, Medicare mashing and Social Security slashing, fiscally irresponsible, authoritarian, selfish, greedy, out-of-touch, lacking compassion, warmongering, and otherwise dangerous.

NEVER vote for Republicans.

Mt_Dewd: Is San Francisco stopping the tea baggers from demonstrating?

hooray for middle-aged white people, some of whom are racist, and many of whom rely much more upon the government than they realize, but are too stupid to know it!

Actually, Mt_Dewd,

SF citizen’s votes surprisingly fiscally conservative, butFox will never report on that.

We tolerate them just fine. Are they getting arrested or assaulted?

Mt. Dewd.  You are an idiot.  It's the retarded Tea party (I know I should have said mentally challenged) that isn't tolerant.  Liberal SF always have a warm heart for the for stooopid people.

Gee, why would people here be intolerant of bigots?

Meatsack
Meatsack

Oddly it seems that the people obsessing over the race of the Tea party is the "liberals" here.

The further decontextualizing of language marches on with the fringe left.

Soon bigot will have so little meaning people will be called bigots if they put out rat traps.

Mt_Dewd
Mt_Dewd

Thanks for proving my point by generalizing an entire group who hold diverse array of issues with the government. Much like the Occupy protestors had numerous issues, but because they tend to lean left politically, they are tolerated by the average person on here.  It's simpler to call anyone part of this movement racist and discount anything they have to say just like the morons of the right called all Occupy protestors "hippies" and ignored what they had to say. But only one side likes to wear their "tolerance" on their sleeve as a badge, but both sides stick their fingers in their ears whenever they hear something they don't agree with.

You seem to have mistaken using stereotypes with making a valid argument.

And yet you don't think you're a bigot? The irony level is off the charts.

Meatsack

The way SF progressives demonize minorities when they don't agree with progressives?

Make sense.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

No, hate speech is when you demonize minorities.  If you don't understand the difference, please don't vote.

Meatsack
Meatsack

Hate speech is simply not agreeing with a San Francisco progressive.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

Well if you're going to criticize people for generalizing the political positions of large groups of people, you shouldn't expect anyone to take you seriously when your best argument is "It's wrong unless I'm the one doing it."

Also, the fact that you're unable to distinguish between hate speech and normal political banter is extremely alarming, and does not bode well for the future of this country.

Mt_Dewd
Mt_Dewd

Don't worry, don't address what I actually said that both sides have their issues, just continue to live in your little bubble like most people who think one side is 100 percent right and the other side is 100 percent wrong.

But seriously, did this site make such snarky comments about the Occupiers? And I'm serious, I very likely could have missed something. I'm going off of this article which seems to hold one side in high esteem and insults the other.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

"Thanks for proving my point by generalizing an entire group who hold diverse array of issues with the government."

...says that guy who said:

"San Francisco: Tolerant of everyone...except those with Republican views."

So ironic, it almost hurts!

These bigots don't seem to understand the distinction.  They don't understand that one is intolerant not of a person's right to express a view but intolerant of stupidity.

Teabaggers equate their equal right to an opinion to equal validity of their opinion.  They don't seem to understand that although they are entitled to their opinion their opinion is NOT equally entitled to validity.

It is too hard for them to grasp such a concept.  So they do what they usually do when they are unable to comprehend - they revert to generalizations, bigotry, fear mongering and yelling.
