Occupy Can't Wait to Make Life Hell for Golden Gate Bridge Commuters

Now it's getting personal
No more dressing up in ugly hospital gowns or sending mean Valentine's Day cards to Wells Fargo executives. It seems 99 percenters have decided it's time to go big or go home.

On May 1, occupiers aren't just going to make life hell for Wells Fargo executives  -- they are going  to make life hell for all 99 percenters commuting between here and the North Bay with an obnoxious occupation of the Golden Gate Bridge.

They plan to shut down the bridge to "show the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District that fair wages and benefits can not be ignored."

According to the Occupy the Bridge! Facebook page:

Buses will be leaving at 6am from 19th and Telegraph and Justin Herman/Bradley Manning Plaza. Buses will return in time for the noon Occupy Oakland convergence, as well as for planned labor rallies at Union Square in San Francisco.

Dear Occupiers: I get it. I do, really. Power to the people. All that. But you're killing me. I live in the North Bay and work in the South Bay. I don't really have a choice in the matter -- it's where the jobs are for my chosen profession. You think I like living out of my car? NO. So what is your thought here? Cheese off the people that actually sympathize with you? There must be better ways to bring injustice to attention than blindly flail and do stuff like this.In short, let me start the slow clap right now.

On the bright side, you guys will give me a great excuse to #OccupyBars since I won't be able to get to work. I guess that's one way to "Stick it to the 1%."

(maybe this is all one big manipulation by Anheiser-Bush and you guys are the sheeple.)

....and no, I'm the furthest thing from a 1%-er.

See, they don't need to get to a job, so they haven't a clue...

Um Check out the99spring.com Not in anyway asked for by occupy in anyway, in fact occupy has told some of those organizations to step off a few times because being affiliated directly with the donkey.. but those are a lot of non profits, unions, from every origin, A LOT of organizations who have decided to participate in direct actions on top of occupy actions from May day ON but they are supporting occupy on may day. 100,000 people is the estimate that they are bringing to the table. This is a GENERAL STRIKE. Happening all over the world  And then they are starting their own populist movement. Spring is about the be sprung in May. It is a general strike for fair wages for the people who keep your roads safe and patched and earthquake proofed and build your bridges. Don't go to work. You don't need to go out and shut down a bridge but if the governor wants to call the national guard on the people who are the transit operators in this state. And the people who support them and um some of the biggest PACs that support him thats his career. This is san francisco after all not oakland, and  he won't be able to hide it because its in tenderloin. And by now most occupy protestors have Gas Masks to march, the saddest part of being an occupier in the bay area, is that the military supply store in Berkeley has a Occupy Discount on Israeli Civilian Gas Masks because it's standard now to believe that you will be maced or gassed or shot at with sub lethal projectiles, or even the L:RAD be deployed on you.

Occupiers wishing we were in the 60's? Maybe the war is not the main topic here its economic injustice, it's the fact that our parents were usually the first generation in their family to go to college so jobs were wide open for them. When we graduated high school college is expected, if you live in california you are saddled with CRAZY tuition and loans for a public university even that you may never actually get a job in. Get a job people say. Everyone has a job, most have degrees, masters, phd's a lot are homeless, the other sad thing is that it's practically illegal to be homeless in the bay area, but it's too expensive to live in the bay area with most of the jobs that are being offered.

But the banks, have no problem foreclosing on grandma who's had the house in her family for two generations, the banks have no problem driving up the cost of living here and, all of these foreclosures are causing a credit crisis thus causing a ridiculous  vacancy rate, and making rent rise even more and crime is moving to different area's of town.

THIS IS FINANCIAL INEQUALITY. We would have been BETTER OFF if we had been born in the 50s. 9 banks own 65% of the GDP. So every politician is owned by these banks, every vote, every decision.  Until the banks are broken up. And Money and politics is separated you will continually see the decline of society. We are living as the romans did. And obviously  you people have not learned that history will repeat itself if you don't change.

As an old lefty I'm always astonished by how stupid the movement can be at times. Yes, let's block the Golden Gate Bridge, that will be a great way to gain the support of the 99%! God save us from the idiots who think this is a great plan.

I wonder if Gubna Brown is gonna bring on the National Guard like he said he would.

Now wouldn't that be a freakin' hoot!

Excellent!  The more noisome actions they take that harass, inconvenience and disrupt their fellow 99%ers the quicker they lose credibility much like their fellow losers BART protesters.

im sick of the marxist rhetoric...karl marx, trotsky, lenin & mao were butchers. They destroyed 150 million peoples lives & here we are 75-100 years later their useful idiots are back banging their hammers & sickles

lets hope this is a mass cult suicide & the last we have to hear from these poser bolsheviks lol

You sheeple. Easy to brand any form of protest as marxist, hoping to scare any thought away instantaneously. Would you have said the same about the protests that started off the war of independence? IF THE PEOPLE ACT LIKE SHEEP THE RULERS WILL ACT LIKE WOLVES.
