James Hooker, Modesto Teacher, Wins Back Former Student, Jordan Powers

It's like an after-school special only with sex scenes

Perhaps James Hooker, the 41-year-old teacher/lover/inmate who ditched his wife and kids for a student, took our advice on how to lure 18-year-old Jordan Powers back into his arms.

After the Modesto high school teacher was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting another student 14 years ago, Powers packed her bags, moved out, and bought a ticket to Ohio where her mother lives. She confessed her hurt to news reporters, saying she had lost everything for this man, whom she met as a freshman at Enochs High School where he taught business.

But news reports now reveal that Powers, who, by the way, dropped out of high school, has gotten back together with Hooker, who had been relentlessly calling, texting, and even waving the Bible around -- anything to get his high school sweetheart back.

"It is awful," Jordan's mother Tammie Powers told reporters. "This is what pedophiles, predators do. They isolate them from family."

The news came the same day that California legislators decided it was inappropriate to criminalize teachers like Hooker for having sexual relations with their students -- even if they are 18. They claim, among other things, that it could really interfere with the important instruction of sexually charged literature, including The Great Gatsby.

Apartently despite it all they both love each other. The mother needs to keep her nose out of it and accept her daughters decision no matter what, she is 18. There are a lot worse mistakes in this world and I believe the media hype is feeding it all. I don't consider this man guilty of anything and he is getting framed over nothing. Law enforcement needs to keep track of the real fish in the big bad ocean and leave the one struggling affair alone. This is a HUGE problem in our world today too much drama over NOTHING! Please go catch some real criminals and leave the love birds to deal with their own mistakes when ever they happen.

To suggest that there isn’t some covert plan to paint this man as a hideous creature lacking in moral fiber is too obvious and plain to see, what though is lacking is an understanding that these two ‘adults’ despite her young age, the fact that yes he left his wife and children and yes he is balding are ultimately capable of making their own decision as to how they must engage each other.

The underlying tenant that all men are just waiting to desperately rob women of their chastity and their virginity is a chaste one indeed....

Everybody is just jealous. You women do not like it for old man to get as young woman. You would let your daughters tramp around with any sorry teenage boy and give your blessings while he screws your daughter. but let a older man do it and then you go crazey, because most all these teenager girls are tramps and their out of control. parents let their girls dress and act like whores and then they get out of contol they cover for them. then when they get an older man the parents like ret their ' control" this mother probably let her daughter whore around before this teacher. she is no virgin before this teacher.
