Carlos Guzmangarza, Fake Doctor, Has More Victims, Prosecutors Say
| How about someone get him a fake lawyer |
According to court documents, Guzmangarza operated a dermatology clinic on Mission Street in San Francisco called the Derma Clinic. He assumed the identity of a physician's assistant with a similar name and claimed that his clinic was operated by himself and another doctor.
To date, prosecutors say Guzmangarza victimized seven women, but tomorrow they plan to come forward with evidence of even more victims.
Guzmangarza, 49, was arrested in December 2011 after he was busted practicing medicine without a license. What's worse, he performed invasive surgeries on at least two of the women, during which he allegedly administered anesthesia to one patient while puffing on a cigar. He then asked the patient to hold her own IV bag while he performed liposuction.
Afterward, he flushed the woman's fat down her own toilet, prosecutors say.
Another woman came forward after spotting their "doctor's" mug shot on the news. In January, Guzamangarza was arrested again, and this time, he was slapped with sexual assault charges. The woman claimed he touched her inappropriately during their consultation for her skin condition. He told her the touching was part of the consultation.
If convicted, Guzamangarza faces up to 29 years in state prison.
