The students gained access to the school's attendance system and sold cleared absences, KTVU reported. Administrators found out when they noticed unauthorized changes in the attendance records. At least four students obtained the password to log into the program.
Those four will likely be expelled, and around 50 who participated could be suspended, Principal Pasquale Scuderi told news outlets.
