Muni just isn't safe
Just yesterday, police were bragging somewhat about how violent crime on Muni was on the decline. But just a few hours after releasing that tidbit of news, a teenager was shot while riding the bus through the city's Visitacion Valley neighborhood.

At about 1:40 p.m., the shooter boarded the Muni bus and walked to the back of the coach where the 17-year-old victim was sitting. The suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the boy in the chest multiple times, according to police.

The shooter quickly hopped off the bus, and fled on foot. The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Officer Albie Esparza.

The suspect was only described as a black man, between 20 and 25 years old.

Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411.

Where are all those supervisors who clam to be "for the children" and advocate free passes for the youth?

Where are they when another child is attacked on Muni? Avalos? Campos? Your silence is deafening. Not surprising though!

I'm more surprised it wasn't the 30 in Chinatown...

What about the onboard surveillance video?

Would be helpful if it included the bus route and/or location besides Visitacion Valley which is a cesspool to begin with and the description is mildly useful.  I'm sure there were no video from the surveillance camera as muni is loath to share those and quickly erase them at the earliest opportunity.

If only ignorant fools like you knew about the wonders of DriveCam, aka the 24/7 camera on the bus that never turn off and are always monitored by a private company. Therefore, there always is footage that will be given to the police.

Sure joey 憎 死- I'm sure you believe everything muni tells you too.  Have you seen the light on the camera?  When it's green, it's on and when it's red... yeah.  Even someone slow like you get the story.  Don't let the door hit you the next time you take muni.
