Ross Mirkarimi Sentenced to One Day in Jail, Probation

​Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi was sentenced to one day in his own county jail for falsely imprisoning his wife, Eliana Lopez, during a New Year's Eve dispute.  He will get credit for time he has already spent behind bars.

Mirkarimi, who was arrested a few days after being sworn in as the new sheriff, will also serve three years of probation, according to new reports. Mirkarimi pleaded guilty to false imprisonment, and in exchange, prosecutors dropped three charges, including battery, child endangerment, and dissuading a witness.

Wow! So basically if your a cop and a high ranking one, you can beat your wife, imprison your wife, hurt your child and spend one day in jail. This is what 2012 is starting; consciousness of fucked up things.
