Mountain Lion Killing Brings Out the Worst in Facebook Users

He might shoot mountain lions, but he's not calling people "spics" and "hicks"
Earlier this week, we told readers about Dan Richards, the California Fish and Game commissioner who is in trouble with animal activists for shooting a mountain lion. Since it's illegal to shoot and kill mountain lions in California, Richards traveled two states over to gun-happier Idaho, where he could safely shoot a mountain lion without being shamed.

The issue has predictably pitted animal-lovers against hunters. But it's also devolved into a back-and-forth so nasty that it makes the Hells Angels' online feuds seem like the antics of playful kittens.

Here's what we found on the Mountain Lion Foundation Facebook page, which has plastered the controversial photo of Richards with his trophy.
