Eric Anthony Lopez, State Prisoner, Guilty of Writing Nasty Letter to Federal Judge
|What was she expecting ... a 'thank you' note"|
Just ask Eric Anthony Lopez, a convicted murderer, who officially extended his stay in prison after he was found guilty of sending a letter laced with death threats to a federal judge, telling her, among other things, he had plans to introduce her to the "grim reaper."
According to Melinda Haag, U.S. District Attorney of Northern California, Lopez penned the letter, threatening to "bring death" to Irma E. Gonzalez, a judge in the Southern District court. He told her he would "eliminate" her with the "Old Bacillus Anthracis, aka Anthrax."
Well, that's one way to continue living off the government teat.
Naturally, the court took his threats seriously, considering Lopez is already serving 25 years in prison for murder.
Lopez now faces up to 10 additional years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced on May 14 in San Diego.
