Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi Isolated His Wife, Prosecutors Say

• This is not about a war between "men" and "women". A woman is just as able to do violence as a man. There are cases of female baby sitters doing massive harm to children. The real point is about and whether a crime was committed.  A fair system requires proof not allegation and without proof even a guilty person must be released. I wish "women" understood this. Because it is a slippery slope. When will an accusation be sufficient to put people in jail? I promise you there will be a backlash. You will have people, mostly men paraded on TV talking about their lives ruined by these laws. The result will be a major rollback.  Already people are being turned off to feminism. My own teenage daughter has been reading about this case. She told me it has turned her passionately opposed to feminism. By overreaching you are harming the cause. Not to mention the people these laws are meant to protect.

• Purepatty - the point is to investigate domestic violence allegations.  how often do you think there is a witness?  most cases do not have a victim willing to testify because they are scared, dependent, ashamed and abused.  that's the point.  i wish more men understood this and i get the feeling a lot of the guys defending ross think date rape is a slippery slope and grabbing someone to the  point of bruising is not abuse gross.

• He ought to just resign. This circus is getting out of hand. Imagine what this is doing to morale in the sheriff's office ?

• Asst. D.A. Aguilar-Tarchi is spewing hot sauce.  Is there a witness?  No.  Do they have a victim?  No -- not the wife, she told them to get lost.  All they got are emails and a suspicious video.  D.A. spends a million bucks to try a misdemeanor to get the guy who won 'cause their police guy lost.  SF kangaroo court here we come.

• Why is the DA trying this case in the media? Could it be that he's worried about getting a conviction?
