This is not the actual incident
Police are asking for the public's help in finding the driver who struck a cyclist in the Ingleside neighborhood Sunday morning before speeding off.

According to police, the cyclist was hit shortly after midnight on Sunday as the victim was pedaling on Geneva and Ocean avenues. The driver left the scene after colliding with the bicyclist.

"The bicyclist fell on the street and then the car hit the cyclist and drove off," Officer Albie Esparza told SF Weekly.

Firefighters nearby witnessed the accident, and assisted the victim who was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with serious injuries, Esparza told us.

While police want help in finding the driver, they had no description of the vehicle nor details about the driver. However, if anyone did witness this accident and has information, please contact the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.

While I'm thankful SFFD personal witnessed the accident and were able to assist quickly, I'm at a loss for how the SFPD have "no description of the vehicle". Surely if the fire personel witnessed it, they can offer SOME description of the vehicle, no?! Get well soon, Toph!
