Update: (1 p.m.) Medical authorities identified the man who was shot to death last night as 30-year-old Rory Jones, an Oakland resident. Police told reporters that Jones was sitting in his car when the suspect approached him and asked him if he had any "weight" -- a street term for drugs.

When Jones said he didn't, the man shot him and ran off. Jones got out of the car and ran down the street until he collapsed. He died a half-hour later.

Original story (9:30 a.m.): A 30-year-old man was shot to death last night while sitting in his car in the Bayview.

According to police, the victim was at the corner of Revere and Jennings at about 8:20 p.m. when the shooter fired at him, hitting him in the chest.

When police arrived, the man was already dead.
The suspect was described as a black man in his 20s. Police had no more information on the incident.

The shooting was San Francisco's second homicide this year. The first homicide occurred last week when 30-year-old Joseph Minozzi was stabbed to death in San Francisco's SOMA district.
