KSFO Talk Radio to Feature Conservative Former Congressman JD Hayworth

JD Hayworth
San Francisco, oddly enough, has something of a rich history when it comes to conservative talk-radio hosts. Who can forget the memorable international affair involving our own Michael Savage, who was banned from entering the United Kingdom in 2009 because of his right-wing statements on the air?

Now local newsradio station KSFO is welcoming former Republican Congressman JD Hayworth to the fold. Hayworth, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2007 and dabbled in talk radio in Phoenix, will be on the air weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon, the station said in a press release.

"As a 'recovering' Congressman, I'll 'pull back the curtains' and explain why politicians do the things they do," Hayworth said in a statement. "With the help of KSFO listeners, we'll endeavor to provide common sense and clarity in these challenging and confusing times."

Some Bay Area listeners might not look to a figure with Hayworth's professed beliefs as a source of clarity and common sense, however.

Hayworth has fueled his public profile with proposed anti-immigrant policies, which were the foundation of his unsuccessful Republican primary run against Senator John McCain of Arizona last year. He also got into trouble in 2006 for praising notorious antisemite Henry Ford's statements on the need to "Americanize" immigrants to the U.S.

We called KSFO News Director Paul Hosley to ask how he thinks Hayworth's views will go over in San Francisco, and haven't heard back yet. In the meantime, feel free to tune in and let us know your thoughts.

Glad to here JD back on the radio wish he was in the Senate instead of the RINO John Mc Caim. I asked Mc Cain about United Nations Agenda 21 and he acted like he knew nothing. He has been supporting it for the last 20 years. What a joke he is even the democracts have agroup called Democracts aganist Agenda 21. Calif farmers have all lostthe use of their farms because of Agenda 21.

I couldn't believe it when I heard JD on KSFO 560 this morning.   I thought "Could this be that sensational senator from Arizona?"   As soon as I got back home I checked in with my Mac Book Pro and sure enough . . . it was indeed JD I heard!    I'm listening to KSFO every morning now 9 - 12 noon!   Thank you for coming to the Bay Area!    Your fan Gigi Clark ~ Sunnyvale, CA (1 block from Cupertino)
