KSFO Talk Radio to Feature Conservative Former Congressman JD Hayworth

Now local newsradio station KSFO is welcoming former Republican Congressman JD Hayworth to the fold. Hayworth, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2007 and dabbled in talk radio in Phoenix, will be on the air weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon, the station said in a press release.
"As a 'recovering' Congressman, I'll 'pull back the curtains' and explain why politicians do the things they do," Hayworth said in a statement. "With the help of KSFO listeners, we'll endeavor to provide common sense and clarity in these challenging and confusing times."
Some Bay Area listeners might not look to a figure with Hayworth's professed beliefs as a source of clarity and common sense, however.
Hayworth has fueled his public profile with proposed anti-immigrant policies, which were the foundation of his unsuccessful Republican primary run against Senator John McCain of Arizona last year. He also got into trouble in 2006 for praising notorious antisemite Henry Ford's statements on the need to "Americanize" immigrants to the U.S.
We called KSFO News Director Paul Hosley to ask how he thinks Hayworth's views will go over in San Francisco, and haven't heard back yet. In the meantime, feel free to tune in and let us know your thoughts.
