Police say they have found the body of 66-year-old Jaeson Chon, who had wandered away from his Daly City home last week, in the water at San Francisco's Lake Merced.

Sgt. Michael Barton told reporters that search teams found Chon in the water and unresponsive at about 2:10 p.m. Friday.

Chon's family had reported him missing on Thursday at about 4:15 p.m. He was unable to write or speak because he had previously suffered a stroke. Police knew to look around Lake Merced because that's where Chon liked to walk, said Daly City police Lt. David Mackriss.

San Francisco police and the medical examiner's office are conducting an investigation to determine the official cause of death.

"We have no information that there was any suspicious circumstance involved at all," he said.
