The U.S. Coast Guard has been scouring the waters of the San Francisco Bay since last night when a man reportedly jumped from a pier near Fort Mason after what appeared to be an irritating phone conversation.

According to news outlets, set-up crews for a business party event reported seeing the man jump at about 10 p.m. Rescue crews were searching for the man as of 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. The San Francisco Police Department currently has a boat crew in the water looking for the man.

Officials told reporters that the jumper was described as a white middle-aged man with curly hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and gray sweatshirt. Search-and-rescue coordinators are asking for the public's help to identify the missing man.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Coast Guard at 399-3451.
