DJ Toph One: Benefits to be Held for Cyclist Hurt in Hit-and-Run

Dj Toph One
While San Francisco's Christopher Evans, better known as DJ Toph One, remains in the intensive care unit with a broken pelvis, the community has already come to his side, arranging benefits to help the popular DJ who was hit by a car over the weekend.

Friends have created a Facebook page, where fans can drop a note of support for Evans, who was struck Sunday in a hit-and-run accident.

According to Facebook, a benefit is planned at Public Works on Jan. 20 at 9 p.m., which will feature sets by J Boogie, Chris Orr, B Cause -- and more. Another event is being held at Som Bar on Jan. 22, with Sake One, DJ Stef, Doc Fu, and Rascue.

Both events will accept donations and a percentage of bar sales will go toward Evans' recovery.

Evans was hit on Sunday around midnight as he rode his bike in the Ingleside neighborhood. According to police, Evans was hit by a car after he fell from his bike at the corner of Ocean and Geneva.

The driver sped off, leaving Evans seriously injured.

Although firefighters nearby witnessed the accident, there is no vehicle description and police have no details on the driver. However, if anyone did witness this accident and has information, please contact the Police Department's anonymous tip line at 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
