Police are spreading the word about an unusual kidnapping that occurred in broad daylight over the weekend.

According to Officer Albie Esparza, a woman was driving on the corner of Cortland and Bayshore Boulevard at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday when she saw two men beating another female in the middle of the street. The men then shoved the victim -- who was about 20 years old -- into a Maroon Land Rover. The car headed south on Bayshore Boulevard.

Police canvassed the area for clues, and attempted to find surveillance of the incident with no success. There's been no reports of a missing woman, Esparza said.

"It's certainly alarming," Esparza told us. "It's not something we see in the city often."

Police said the two men were described as black males, between 20 and 30 years old. They were athletic and muscular. The victim was described as a black woman, with a medium build. She was wearing a red hoodie.
