San Francisco Not the Gayest City, but it Is Among the Most "Lesbianish"
| That's one way to make San Francisco more "lesbianish" |
Not that this will give gays a full recovery from that news, but we just learned that while San Francisco might not be among the gayest cities, we are certainly among the most "lesbianish" in the nation. According to Jezebel, the number of lesbians in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland combined boosted the Bay Area to No. 4 on the list of 21 most lesbianish cities in America.
As our sister blog, the Exhibitionist, noted today, lesbians get the best of both worlds by living in the Bay Area: They can maintain a healthy single life playing pool at the Lexington in the city's Mission District, and later -- once they've coupled off -- move to the more affordable East Bay and not worry about missing gay pride -- Oakland has a parade, too!
But let's be real ... it must be our easy access to dildos in the Bay Area, with at least one Good Vibrations in every city (Oakland just opened one in Lake Merritt). That will certainly bolster our lesbian cred.
You can probably guess which cities are considered more lesbian that us: New York, followed by Los Angeles, which is puzzling, considering so many lesbians "loathe the fuck" out of that city.
