iTunes Claims SF Weekly Best of App Is Tops

Categories: Best Practices
Earlier this year, we decided to make it that much easier for readers and tourists to find the best restaurants, bars, and and coolest places to sip on lattes with one slick touch of their  iPhone. Turns out, we were onto something pretty damn cool -- iTunes selected our free iPhone app as one of the top five best travel apps of the year.

See look, here's proof:

Here's how the app works: If  you're looking for something nearby, the app will lead you to the best spots that are closest to your location. You can sort by neighborhood and quickly see, for example, the decent places to gran some grub nearby, chosen by seasoned professionals like ourselves at SF Weekly.

And once you have found the perfect spot, you can check in via Facebook.

Not too shabby for journalists, huh? But we'll leave it to the real tech experts to give you a review. Here's how Wired.com summed it up:

What Yelp would be if only the cool kids could post reviews. Provides quick access to phone numbers and addresses, with in-app calls and maps.
