We know panhandlers make a decent income
Aside from the fact that it annoys tourists, panhandling also makes the homeless targets of crime, because, well, everyone knows they have money!

Such is the case with a 41-year-old man who was panhandling on the corner of 24th and Alabama streets last night when he was approached by three Hispanic men, all in their 30s. However, the men weren't there to give him a handout; they were there to take his handouts.

One of the suspects kicked him several times while the other men robbed him of his money and his wallet before running off, police said.

The cops could not confirm that the victim -- who suffered bumps to his head -- was homeless, nor did they have further information on the three suspects.
