Man Shot by Police During Traffic Stop Dies

• I knew Steve and spent several months with him in the county, played chess with him and pinochle and got to know him pretty well.  When the smoke finally clears after getting high most formal drug addicts are decent people.  Steve was a decent dude with a good heart.  Unfortunately, drugs played a role in his actions and logic went out the window.  As a child, none of us ever dream of becoming a drug addict.  When placed under certain circumstances our options become limited and that life seems like the only way out.  We suffer from the lack of knowledge of a better way and pay the ultimate price.  Steve fell into this category but when clean and alert he was a good dude and really smart too.  Its a shame he could of really been somebody. 

• He started it.  Cops finished it.  Doesn't seem like he was that good a person.

• Yes, we are trained.  I'm trained to put a lead projectile, less than a half inch across, and traveling around 1800 feet per second, into the largest and best possible target I can, so that I DON'T MISS AND HIT YOU DUMMY.  Everyone thinks we're snipers with a handgun barrel that's 4.25 inches long, while being fired upon no less.  That best target happens to be the upper torso containing heart, lungs, spinal column.  Under stress we throw rounds up or down, guess these rounds went up a hair.  I am responsible for every round I fire, and I can't call 'em back once they go. Just to clarify, we are trained to shoot to "stop a threat."  While firing at hearts, and yes, heads.  Take that as you will.

• HE WAS A GOOD PERSON HOW DARE YOU....PEOPLE..... YOU DONT KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE ON THE OTHER SIDE....AND YOU SHOULDNT JUDGE ...... IM GLAD NO NE ELSE DIED OR WAS HURT... BUT HE SHOULDNT HAVE HAD TO DIE .... EXSPECIALY THAT WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

• who makes you any better than he was, besides who are you to judge if he deserved that. there are very few people in the world that actually deserve to die  in such a horrible manor. perhaps this person is not how the press made it seem yes he must have had some struggles in his life but no way did he deserve to be shot in the head why not wound him and shoot for the leg aren't the police supposed to be trained to shoot their guns it seems that they are trainned shoot to kill which is good in certain situation seems to me this is another case of police negligence . If you really believed everything the press writes you need a reality check... Pump us full of fear so we consume like good little consumers thats the press's job. before .you act like judge DREDD do your research

• When you are stopped, the correct thing to do is put your hands up, and don't run. That indicates guilt.

• 'Why'!? aren't they naming this individual ?

• Another one bites the dust.  I wish we could have more of these expeditious and successful resolution every time we come across such waste of a human much like Judge Dredd.
