Man Badly Beaten in Bayview Home Invasion
| SFPD searching for man with yellow object |
Police say the man was in bed asleep at 11 a.m. when he woke up to a crackling sound and then heard his front door open. The daring man went into the living room to check out the noise and saw another man standing there with a unidentified yellow object in his hand, according to police.
The suspect -- who had forced his way through the victim's security gate -- ran at the victim and began hitting him repeatedly in the head with the yellow object, said Officer Albie Esparza.
The suspect ran out of the house when the victim started screaming. The injured man called police and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The suspect was only described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old.
