What happened to Roma?
Police are trying to figure out what happened to a Bay Area mother whose body was found over the weekend on the side of Interstate 680 near San Ramon.

Authorities say 47-year-old Roma Bhatia's body went unnoticed on the busy freeway, where she was possibly hit by a car. Bhatia had died by the time the California Highway Patrol arrived at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday. There was no vehicle at the scene and no witnesses have come forward.

Police can't figure out why Bhatia was walking on the freeway, or how her body ended up on the side of the road, just south of Bollinger Canyon Road. Her car was nowhere near the freeway, and police say Bhatia was at a hair salon not three miles away from the freeway shortly before authorities were called to the scene, according to news reports.

"At this point what we have is that Roma had already been struck and received fatal injuries when authorities arrived," CHP Officer Steve Creel told reporters."Our interest is because this occurred on an interstate freeway is that several people should have seen her body."

However, her family says there is no way Bhatia had been walking on the freeway. Her sister, Vini Ehsan, told NBC that Bhatia's death is a complete mystery. "She was the type of person that would use valet parking," Ehsan said. "She was not the type of person who would prefer to be on a treadmill than walking on the road."

Anyone with information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at (925) 828-0466.

All of you make me sick to my stomach.  Obviously none of you have had someone close to you pass away.  Show some respect.  Before Roma's funeral service was concluded and before her soul could even be set free you all start talking gossip!  This is not a made up reality TV show.  This is real life.  Real life for a loving husband and 2 wonderful sons that have lost their wife and mother.  Everyone needs to mind their own business.  Let the family grieve in peace.  If you don't see things first hand.... then don't repeat it!

To "Wondering about Justice",

I am Roma Bhatia's son and you have no fucking clue what you are talking about. You are ignorant and sick to insinuate that my father provoked this. Keep our business out of your mouths and leave us at peace.

Once again Gurmaan I am so very proud of you!  May your beautiful mother rest in peace.

I love you, Lori

There are postings all over Facebook about this woman's abusive husband..... what is happening with this? It appears he is well-known to the community to be a wife-abuser. Are the police aware or is the Facebook chatter just chatter?

Where are the postings on facebook?  Obviously, this should be reported to the police if it is true and I hope that whoever is writing it, has taken the time to do that.  Anyone with information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at (925) 828-0466.

While condolences are in order, I'm struck by the victim's sister's testament to her utter laziness:

"She was the type of person that would use valet parking," Ehsan said. "She was not the type of person who would prefer to be on a treadmill than walking on the road."

I am an Indian woman 48 years old. I am an elementary school teacher working non-stop with inexhaustible unremitting labor, still don't like to walk on the road and will like to use valet parking when available to avoid the trouble of finding a parking spot in an overly crowded area. Would you call me lazy, too? You made that comment without thinking a bit.

Stupid comment.

She wasn't saying she was lazy. She was making a point that her sister wouldn't walk on the side of a freeway no matter what the circumstances were.  If you don't have anything nice to say just STFU.

It is a mystery though as per her family it might even be a racial discrimination or a family nuisance for she was killed and dumped in the freeway.
