Jonathan Waknine, OccupySF Protester, Arrested -- Again
| This doesn't exactly make for a peaceful presence |
According to San Francisco police, Waknine was arrested again yesterday morning, but this time it was for allegedly threatening a park ranger.
At about 8:30 a.m., a park ranger had been conducting a routine security check of the Occupy SF camp in Justin Herman Plaza when Waknine approached him. Waknine told the ranger that he actually owned the weapon that police had confiscated from him the day before when he had been arrested. The ranger told Waknine he didn't know what he was talking about, he was unfamiliar with the circumstances of that arrest.
That's when Waknine exploded.
"Fuck you all, I have an AK47 at home and I will come back tomorrow. It will be loaded when I come back. Try to get it!" Waknine told the park ranger. Waknine walked away and the ranger called police.
At 2 p.m. that same day, officers were patrolling the plaza when they spotted Waknine near Steuart and Don Chee Way near the Occupy camp. The cops, who were aware of the threats, detained Waknine and verified his identity by his driver's license. Waknine was arrested and is now occupying San Francisco County Jail.
