FBI to Announce Development in Case of Daniel Andreas San Diego, Vegan Bay Area Bomber

FBI officials told reporters that San Diego is not in custody, but they would not elaborate any further on the news, which will be announced at a press conference at 11 a.m.
On Aug. 28, 2003, two bombs exploded approximately one hour apart on the campus of a biotechnology corporation in Emeryville. Then, on Sept. 26, 2003, one bomb strapped with nails exploded at a nutritional products corporation in Pleasanton. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
San Diego, 33, who has ties to the Animal Liberation Brigade, which claimed responsibility for the bombings, was indicted in the United States District Court in July 2004. But the former Berkeley computer specialist had already realized he was being watched; in October 2003, he parked his car in downtown San Francisco, walked away and has not been seen since.
He is one of 31 fugitives added to the FBI list of most wanted terrorists.
