Tech Mogul Sean Parker Says He Should Be Pitied by the 99 Percent

The Occupy protesters might think they have it bad. Dealing with latrine-like encampments, tear-gas assaults, and general derision from the nation's economic and political elite is no walk in the park. But Silicon Valley billionaire Sean Parker has news for them: His life is pretty tough, too.

In a series of tweets yesterday, Parker composed what amounts to a succinct opposite of The Communist Manifesto. You think it's fun dropping $5,000 tips for waitresses and seeing yourself portrayed by Justin Timberlake in a blockbuster movie? Parker has news for you, proletarians: Obscenely rich dork-playboys are born free, yet everywhere they are in chains.

"You guys are really attacking me for being the 1%? I was broke and couch surfing just a few years ago," he tweeted

Fair enough; no one can fault Parker for making himself a fortune. His next Twitter utterance, however, was perhaps less well-calculated to incur the sympathy he seems to crave.

"I have a whole new set of problems to deal with now: security, extortion attempts, kidnapping threats, death threats, etc.," he wrote. "Life better b4?"

We're guessing this woman would say not.

Cheer up, Sean: At least you got to pay for a cute local campaign commercial starring Brian Wilson and MC Hammer.
