Tech Mogul Sean Parker Says He Should Be Pitied by the 99 Percent

The Occupy protesters might think they have it bad. Dealing with latrine-like encampments, tear-gas assaults, and general derision from the nation's economic and political elite is no walk in the park. But Silicon Valley billionaire Sean Parker has news for them: His life is pretty tough, too.

In a series of tweets yesterday, Parker composed what amounts to a succinct opposite of The Communist Manifesto. You think it's fun dropping $5,000 tips for waitresses and seeing yourself portrayed by Justin Timberlake in a blockbuster movie? Parker has news for you, proletarians: Obscenely rich dork-playboys are born free, yet everywhere they are in chains.

"You guys are really attacking me for being the 1%? I was broke and couch surfing just a few years ago," he tweeted

Fair enough; no one can fault Parker for making himself a fortune. His next Twitter utterance, however, was perhaps less well-calculated to incur the sympathy he seems to crave.

"I have a whole new set of problems to deal with now: security, extortion attempts, kidnapping threats, death threats, etc.," he wrote. "Life better b4?"

We're guessing this woman would say not.

Cheer up, Sean: At least you got to pay for a cute local campaign commercial starring Brian Wilson and MC Hammer.

Regarding Sean Parker's query--If one is recently broke, he-or-she will not have a couch on which to "surf" since such ones will be homeless.  Hell yeah, having $45,000-a-month to rent a party mansion would afford a much more stable quality of life--until the money runs out without a source of replenishment.  Sean Parker is out-of-touch with the reality of most citizens before, during and after this socioeconomic debacle that we may not have seen the worst of.

What an asshole. He can take his money and his attempts to buy more tax breaks from his buddy Ed Lee and stick them up his Twitterbook.

For the last week or so there's been this lingering stink in Potrero Hill. Now we know the source.
