Tiger, a City College student, was shot point blank in the head on the April 16, 2001. He was in a coma, but his mother held onto hope, and kept her son on life support, despite the doctors' advice. He remained in the sub-acute unit, paralyzed and incapable of speaking until Sept. 24, 2011 when he died due to complications from the shooting, according to the Ex.
According to police, Tiger, a father of two young girls, was at Third Street and Palou Avenue when a masked man walked up to him and shot him in the head. After the shooting, the gunman jumped into a burgundy van with three other men inside and drove off.
No arrests have been made, yet the gang task force continues to investigate what happened that night, and police say the shooting is still a very active case. Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to contact SFPD at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411.
"I thought that as long as he could wake up and see someone familiar, he would heal," Tiger's mother Alison Mickels said.
