Police Shoot, Kill Man Who Allegedly Stabbed His Parents in the Richmond

Update (9:31 a.m.): Police reportedly shot a man who allegedly stabbed an elderly man and woman inside a Richmond home this morning. Read the updated story after the jump.
Original story (8:41 a.m.): Police are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the Richmond District where "multiple people hurt," according to new reports.
Police have closed down the area of Funston and Balboa streets. A neighbor told reporters that she heard a scream and saw someone lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk. We called police to find out what was going on, but we were only told that officer are out on the scene now. A press conference is scheduled soon.
Police reportedly were called to the 600 block of Funston at 7:15 a.m. after someone reported a stabbing. The officer-involved shooting happened when police arrived.
We will tell you more when we learn more. Check back for details.
Update: Police told reporters that when they arrived at the home on the 600 block of Funston, they found an elderly man lying in the doorway, "bleeding profusely." At the top of the stairs inside the home was an elderly woman who was also suffering from stab wounds. When police were trying to help the victims, a knife-wielding man came at them, holding a knife in each hand, according to new reports. An officer shot the man, whose condition is not known at this time.
Police then found another person hiding in the back of the home.
The victims and the suspect appear to be related, according to police.
