Traffic affects Republicans and Democrats alike
If you are a wealthy political donor you will probably be dining with the president later today at the W Hotel. And the rest of us? We will be sitting in the painful traffic jams created by President Obama's visit to San Francisco.

After his trip to Los Angeles yesterday, where he met with a string of celebrities, Obama is landing in San Francisco this morning for the second leg of his 2012 presidential fundraising trip.

What's most important to note is that police will be closing enough streets through downtown to make your commute home utter Hell.

Here's what the average commuter can expect:
The following streets will be closed starting at 11:30 a.m.:

•Northbound 3rd Street from Folsom to Mission streets

•Southbound New Montgomery from Mission to Howard streets

•Westbound Howard Street from 2nd to 4th streets

•Hawthorne from Howard to Folsom streets

And finally, the intersection of 3rd and Howard streets will be the most affected.

Let's just hope Muni and BART are running on time.
