Being a Niner's fan (or player) is apparently violating the penal code
Officials sometimes exercise their sporting allegiances where they can. Remember how broadcasters would claim the Giants were delayed until well after midnight by Canadian customs officials back when the Expos were in Montreal -- and competitive?

Perhaps that's why 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree blamed his recent brush with the law on the cops' unyielding loyalty to Bay Area rivals the Oakland Raiders.

Crabtree reportedly tweeted a message that a Raiders-loving cop pulled him over when he was en route to the airport. The officer detained him for a half-hour for reasons we don't know, forcing Crabtree to miss his flight.

However, Crabtree finds an easy explanation for the incident: The cop clearly was a Raiders fan and "didn't like the Niners."

Wait. Aren't the Raiders the outlaw team?
