He needs to simply address the facts.  MJ has never killed anyone in the 6,000 years of recorded use,  our founding fathers grew and used it while building a nation, and the AMA staunchly opposed the Schedule 1 classification.  Yes, he will lose his rightwing, "christian" conservatives, but he's already lost them.  No politician, barring Ron Paul, has the cajones to man-up and address the facts.  They're just too scared.  I voted for Obama and appreciate his direction to the DEA to not prosecute dispensaries, but he needs to do more.  It needs to be re-classified as a Schedule 2 or even 3.  Why is that so hard when former Surgeon Generals feel the same way?  Not sure I'll give him another vote if he doesn't do something about this issue.  It's California's largest export, estimated at over 10 billion dollars a year, but noone is making any revenues from it.  Legalize, tax, and let's let this entire "reefer madness" b.s. die off into history with the other silly ideas such as the world being flat, cigarettes are good for you, and alcohol is safer.  Grow a pair, mr. president.

If our President doesn't know that it is ILLEGAL for a doctor to PRESCRIBE cannabis, what the heck is he even doing talking about it for? Maybe he would be better off saying 'I don't know, I am a bit ignorant of it all'.

In 16 states a doctor CAN say it might be more beneficial than dangerous for an individual, but they can't counsel on how or where to get it, and NO pharmacy can allow it because the FDA is hindered by the DEA and why the heck is the Drug Enforcement Agency more worried about keeping it illegal, than letting any legitimate research be done.For the President to play so coy with facts, either shows he is oblivious to the situation, or just looking for double talk to fill in the places where there is silence.
