Mayor Ed Lee's Pub Crawl: What He Learned

While Mayor Ed Lee has already made himself a loner on the candidate trail, he upped the ante last night when he ditched the traditional campaign forum and decided to hit the bars to booze with voters.

Now that's persuasive politics.

As one voter told the Examiner at the Mad Dog last night, Lee's unconventional campaigning got her thinking: She just might vote for Lee instead of Supervisor David Chiu as planned. That's the political equivalent of beer goggles.

So what could a mild-mannered candidate like Lee really learn on this campaign cocktail crawl? Here's what we think.
