Norovirus in the house
San Francisco officials are scrambling to disinfect a local camp where they suspect kids have been in contact with the nasty norovirus.

According to the Examiner, three campers and some employees reported symptoms of the gastrointestinal virus, which include vomiting, diarrhea, and a high fever, between July 1 and 8. Six other cases were reported the week prior.

About 500 campers were visiting Camp Mather near Yosemite when the outbreak was happening, according to the Rec and Park Department, which operates the camp.
The Tuolumne County Public Health Department is testing samples from campers, yet officials believe it is almost certainly a norovirus outbreak. Meanwhile, the campgrounds are still open to visitors.

So how does this nasty virus spread? It's found in fecal matter and human vomit of an infected person, and spreads though water or by touching contaminated surfaces.

Now go wash your hands.
