Alex Trebek, Jeopardy! Host, Injured While Chasing Robber at S.F. Hotel

Playing games by day, chasing robbers by night
​Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek is on crutches after he fell and hurt his ankle while chasing down a woman who had broken into his San Francisco hotel room and stole from him.

According to media outlets, the woman entered his hotel room at about 2:30 a.m. and stole cash and a bracelet his mother had given him as well as a few other items. She stashed the items in a ice machine as he chased after her.

The 71-year-old game show host fell and snapped his Achilles tendon as well as his other leg.

Lieutenant Troy Dangerfield told reporters that police had arrested a 56-year-old woman on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property. All the items were recovered minus the cash and the bracelet.

Trebek says he's doing fine. He will have surgery Friday and is expected to be in a cast for six weeks.

So then we ask  ... what game show host will chase down a burglar any hour of the night? Who is Alex Trebek?

Everyone knows that a Jeopardy! clue consists of a statement and then a question that leads to said statement; this article should, therefore, conclude: "This game show host will chase down a burglar any hour of the night.  Who is Alex Trebek?"  Duh.
