San Francisco Is a City of Sluts, Study Finds

This open secret is confirmed in a new study commissioned by condom-maker Trojan, which found that among residents of the major U.S. cities surveyed, San Franciscans reported having had sex with the greatest number of people. We clocked in at an average of 30 partners. (Not all at once, mind you -- even San Franciscans face certain physical limitations.) At the bottom of the list were Chicagoans, who reported, on average, having had 11 partners.
Prudes.
One piece of news to come out of this study is that San Franciscans, while promiscuous, are also relatively safe: Just under 60 percent of respondents here said they sometimes or rarely use condoms, compared to 71 percent in Dallas. It's still interesting to note that more than half of sexually active adults here seldom choose to wrap it up.
Another interesting finding: While the men and women of San Francisco are mixing it up quite a bit, they apparently aren't deriving much joy from their encounters. Only 70 percent of San Franciscans reported they were satisfied with their sex lives, the lowest satisfaction level in the survey.
Maybe it's time we all considered trading in the existential despair of the morning-after walk of shame for a chastity ring and the first season of Grey's Anatomy.
