Camping suffers a stroke
Just as Harold Camping, who let us down with his failed Rapture prediction last month, was fading from the news cycle, he resurfaced over the weekend after news broke that the Alameda preacher suffered a stroke.

The 89-year-old evangelical preacher reportedly had a stroke Thursday night after his radio broadcast and was taken to the hospital. The news was posted on the Family Radio Yahoo group message board this weekend.

Charlie Menut, a regional manager for Camping's Family Radio, the Oakland-based Christian radio network, said he had no other details to report on Camping's condition, but asked followers to "please just pray for him."

"I'm sure we'll be able to publicly update everyone," Menut wrote on the message board.

UP NEXT: Camping's status in the hospital.

Don't worry, Harold; a stroke isn't necessarily the end of the world.

good for him, cuz all the gods that every single person on this planet worships are punishing him for being a scamming sinner that gave the bible and every holy book and each of the gods good names. Reality is a big fat fucking bitch ain't it? That what happens when you fuck with the jesuses of all religions as well as their fathers. apparently he thought he could try to fuck the free world without worrying about a stroke or heart attack or being heckled. Now he holds the world record for being the dumbass that he is twice. apparently, his church is not a church, its a cult.

Camping may shield the money he fleeced from the naive but he surely did profit.  Other scams are punishable with a prison sentence but scamming in the name of God is some sort of religious freedom that does not protect the flock -- too bad.

When a person believes and practices rebellion against the Lord God of heaven it is one thing because God is longsuffering and patient, but when one teaches and preaches rebellion to large audiences of the unwitting then it is another thing because he leads large numbers astray.  God does not long allow this.  Harold Camping teaches rebellion against God by stating that God's 4th commandment is no longer valid.  The judgment of God has stricken Camping with a dumbness of speech.  Now he can only slur his preaching of rebellion.  If he continues his false and misleading teaching God will remove him from the living.

You must be God, otherwise you wouldn't know that.

since i heard about camping having a stroke, i have been praying for him.   it is not for us to judge him.  that is God,s business, but we can observe him. i have observed that he led his followers into dispair!!!! however, they followed willingly.  it is their families who have suffered!  camping distroied families, led people into poverty because they left their jobs, spent their life's savings, and ruined their familie's future.  the world over has been hurt by this one man!  no wonder his body couldn't hold up under such strain for what he has inflicted on so many. God have mercy on his soul!

Well, he certainly didn't have a "stroke of genius," did he?

by harold camping being a false prophet spreading and leaning to his own understanding and not going by what the word speaks he open himself up to the devil to come in.god speaks of false prophets and his every word has to be fulfilled.so god showed himself mighty on may 21st.he is not the last.stand on the word of god and nothing else.just another sign of how close he is.he said when you see the signs look up im near.pray for those who know not that they will be led to the true.

The Bible is clear. Camping has proven himself to be a false prophet time and time again. We are commanded not to listen to him. He has led many astray, and if his followers knew their Bible, they would have fled from him years ago.

Even worse is the shame he has brought the cause of Christ. Non-believers have watched this sad, disgraced man and have branded true Christians as deceived and crazy.

Who is the Christ Camping preached? Is it really the Christ of the Bible? Is it really the Christ of history...God Almighty, who became a man, and took on the sins of the world, past, present and future, on that bloody cross two thousand years ago...died, was buried and resurrected...ascended into Heaven and who WILL return to rule and reign?

Read your Bibles...and run from false prophets, and those who preach "another Christ."

Every Christian says the same thing -- their interpretation is right, and everyone else's is wrong.  You are getting nowhere with this stupid argument.

Robyn

Not ever Christian says the same thing,It depends on who the person is.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

I understand that every Christian is a distinct person.  But you have to understand that in order to be Christian in the first place, one must make certain choices about what to believe.  In making these choices, one has implicitly declared themselves to be God.

Robyn

I know they wouldn't agree with each other b/c they both have different opinions,so yes I get what you are saying......The point I'm trying to make is that you assume every Christian says the same thing, but that's not true....Every Christian has their own opinions, whether they are right or wrong.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

So let's take two Christians.  One says that gay people are A-OK with God and the other says the gays will burn in hell.  Now if these two talk about the subject of homosexuality.

You're saying they will agree with one another.  Do you see how that's a contradiction?

God struck him down for being a false prophet....nah, I could be a dick but he's just a human being no one is perfect. Get well soon, Doomsday predictions won't be the same without you! ;)

Just know that when this man dies, he will immediately be in the presence of God.  It will be then that he will have to answer for all that he has done and what he has caused others to do by that influence.  He will be entirely accountable.  I guess he gets to do that much earlier now rather than later.  We can sit here and say nasty things all day long due to his misfortune but the truth is that God will judge him and not us.  You truly find out what is in the heart of man when tragedy strikes and I'm not speaking about Harold, I'm speaking about those of you who write on these blogs the terrible things that you do.  You love other people's misfortunes and that's unfortunate.  It was the same with Jesus though.  When they were hailing the King of the Jews those same people a day later, nailed him to the cross.  People are that quick to turn on people or at the very least they are very quick to say negative things out of loss.  Just remember that one day the tables could turn on you.  We all deserve mercy and grace from one another.  God gives it to us and we must always give it to others.

False Prophets - The truth of scripture stands while the exact hour remains unknown. Camping prophesied accurate from a biblical prediction. He missed the precise date, which by biblical definition should come as no surprise.

Libel - For libel to stick, there needs to be fiscal damages, in this instance, there are none. Just gossip.

Camping at age 89 has suffered much criticism and I would assume stress. Small wonder. To have survived at his age, quite remarkable.

He is a human with good intentions, albeit, not 100 percent accurate.

To the critics, at some point, we do not know when, there will be a day of atonement. Are you ready or are you too busy beating a man whom just suffered a stroke.

Teacherforlife
Teacherforlife

I'm sorry.  I just don't believe his intensions were good.  He is deceiving his followers by proclaimins something that is not possible.  If he is a believer of Gods word, he should not try to predict what the Father says is unknown.  I feel sorry for his pain and/or suffering and pray for his salvation.  He too will have to stand and account for his actions (as a leader).

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

How does it make sense to discuss the intentions of someone who was clearly in declining mental health?

MrEricSir

Not sure how that's a valid point (or even makes sense) but whatever.

Not the point I'm making.  She was a 14 year old child.  She could have changed her views MANY times by the time she became an adult.  Camping has a right to say WHATEVER he wants.  He will have to deal with the repercussions of saying it.  My thing is, don't get stressed out now because of the fallout of what you said.

MrEricSir
MrEricSir

She held herself to those beliefs, not me.

So what are we supposed to do? Repeal the first amendment?  Get real.

Teacherforlife

At 14, MrEricSir?  Wow.  If we were held to our beliefs at that age, we would ALL be in a bad place.

MrEricSir

That sucks, but you know what?  If she believed every raving lunatic with some crazy idea, she'd have wound up in a bad place sooner or later.

Teacherforlife

It's conversation.  Many have discussed more trivial things.  This is very much so relevant becuase what he has done has affected so many.  One 14 year old girl was even so afraid, she committed suicide.  Now, this may not make sense to you but I think it is a worth while conversation if it saves someone else reading these posts.

Barbara
Barbara

How do you know that he's not already saved?  There are many believers of God's Word that daily predict what God says is unknown.  I hear them and see them all of the time on the streets and in the pews.  Don't pray for a man's salvation when he's already got it.  Anyone who calls on the name of Jesus shall be saved.  Anyone.  What they do with that salvation up until the time they go to be with the Lord, is between them and God.  To sit there and judge and say that he's not saved and that he's not a believer.  God is our only judge.  If anything, Harold will now truly get right with God but that doesn't mean that he becomes saved.  Personally I believe that he is a Christian.  I have no doubt in my mind.  He who has no sin, cast the first stone.  If not, then just walk away.

The bible says by their fruits you know them: do you get thorns from figs? for example. Lies from one of God's prophets.Remember, beware of false prophets.

Teacherforlife

I never said he was not saved.  However, he will be held accountable for false teachings.  He can not possibly believe what the bible says and then tell his "flock" that they are to give up everything they have and get rid of it or give it to his ministry.  You, "personally" believe he is a Christian.   He may be, maybe not.  What I am saying is that he is held to an extremely high standard because he is a leader.  He will have to answer for that.  No I am not the judge but I know what the bible says about his claims.  Enough said.

Robyn

He may be a Christian, but what he did was wrong.....People really took him seriously and b/c of that they gave up everything....Maybe having this stroke is a lesson to him for predicting the end.

God must be pissed at him for making false prediction :)

God doesn't get angry with people and as a result puts heart attacks and strokes on them.  I hate it when people put tragedy on God.  God is good.  There is no bad in Him.  The devils comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  People are responsible for their own actions and Harold had a heart attack due to his own guilt of no doubt sleepless nights.  At 89 years old that will cause a stroke really quick but God did not do this to Harold.  When you get to know God, you will know that He is good God full of love and compassion.  When Jesus died on the cross, God's wrath was placed on Jesus and not man.  God isn't angry anymore.

Oh really Barbara? I have no doubts that God isn't good. You obviously don't think that God gets angry enough to punish people, do you. News flash! God gets angry! Angry enough to punish entire nations of peoples! I guess you thumb through that part of the Bible?

So, I guess, you too believe the world is coming to an end whenever this charlatan decides it does?  Where were you when his last predictionS were wrong, hiding under a table with a flashlight?  Yes, this is exactly what a benevolent god wants to do to the things he loves.  I feel sorry for people who believe anyone that says if it's in the Bible, it must be true.  good luck in your fearful life.

you notice for a teacher who's been wrong about dates, how often he still would use the term "the fact is"? He kept saying that until his last broadcast. Where in the Bible does it teach of past "spiritual judgements"? So convientent for him to put a 'spiritual' twist to his teachings that don't come true. He'd say God was the CEO and God could shut him down anytime. The anytime has come and i'm glad this proud/arrogant man is off the air..you?

Barbara

God doesn't send messages like this.  Harold had a heart attack due to reasons that only he knows about.  God doesn't put this on people.  I'm sure the stroke was due to his latest fiasco that he knows caused hardship for many people under him that he was/is responsible for.  I don't think he had a night to where he was sleeping actually.  We must NEVER assume that God puts this stuff on people when people do fine all by themselves.

K2
K2

Lady, that's a mighty big presumption you've got going on there. God doesn't send messages like this? Really? You obviously haven't read about the messages God sent to people and entire nations in the Old Testament have you? Sodom and Gomorrah? Message. The plagues in Egypt on King Ramses and his people? Message. Israel overran by Babylon? Message. Babylonian King who spent 7 years living like an animal in the wilderness like God said, message! Noah's Ark? One big message from God! Whatever lady!

barbara as a bible believing christian i have to disagree with you. the bible cleary makes mention of god taking lives of people for disobeying and lying. annais and sapphira in the book of acts both died on the same day according to scripture for lying to the holy spirit. lots wife disobeyed god by turning to look back at sodom and gomorah after he said she would die if she did so and she looked back died. it also says god will use sickness to deal with peoples sins if necessary to save their soul. i am no judge but he was making himself look like he was more honorable than jesus christ himself when he claimed to know something even the saviour of the world doesnt know. i dont know if he had the stroke cause of his old age or from punishment from god, but for you to say god will never do so is not factually correct according to scriptue. it may very well be a signal from god that he went way to far this time and he may be using this stroke as a wakeup call for him to repent to save his soul from eternity in hell. my prayer is he will ask god for forgiveness if it isnt too late already.

The Bible contains contradictions on every page.  Don't come at me with this "well just read the Bible" nonsense.  You can argue anything you want with that book as long as you selectively ignore passages.

As for "Bible facts" there's a better phrase for that: "made up shit."

Nick_ditello
Nick_ditello

i guess you dont read your bible or dont believe it one cause they are many examples god took the lives of people for lying and being evil people. it even says in the bible god will use sickness to deal with sin in a persons life. remember annais and sapphira they lied about money and it says they both died because of their sin. it is in the book acts. i hope you know it says in the word god will not be mocked. this false prophet of satan is trying to be god himself in saying he knows when jesus will return when it specifically says no one knows the hour except for the father only!!! it says in the book of revelation if any man adds to the word of god, the added plagues will be added to that man during the tribulation and if any man takes away from the word of god his name will be taken away from the lambs book of life which means he or she will go to hell. thats not opinion it is bible facts.
