It's the Weekend: Get Your Drink On, But Don't Drive

Not unless you want to get busted.
It's Friday, which you probably know, but just try to resist using a Rebecca Black reference. And if you were looking forward to a weekend of boozing, be careful.

San Francisco police have been kind enough to warn you of the upcoming DUI checkpoint on Saturday, June 4. They are even telling you exactly when and where to avoid driving after a night of drinking. Cops tell us they will be stationed at Folsom and Eighth streets from 8:30 p.m. until 3 a.m.

And this is a warning you should heed. The police department conducted a checkpoint over Memorial Day weekend and arrested 44 DUI suspects. That's 61 percent more than last year's 26 arrests, according to Jan Ford, spokeswoman for the Avoid the 8 campaign.

Not only were more people probably drinking and driving, Ford says, but increased patrols led to more arrests.

The good news is that should you find yourself cruising through the DUI checkpoint, there will be food available.

That should help sober you up.
