Earlier this month, we told SF Weekly readers about Anthony Josef Norris, the San Francisco art mentor for youth who confessed to having child porn. Apparently, his love for pornographic images seeped into his artwork as well.

Police told reporters today that Norris' one-inch tiles within his murals,  displayed at various schools, are embedded with "inappropriate and offensive images." The images were found at Sunset Elementary School on June 15, according to police.

"I think as an adult, you would look at these tiles and see, possibly, some sort of sexual connotation to them," Commander Mike Biel told reporters.

FBI had found porn files posted in July 2010 by someone using the handle "spanky" on a Web site known for child porn. The files were traced to Norris' San Francisco address. Police stormed his home in April and found some 600 images of pornography, as well as another 7,500 "possible images."

Norris, who was the director and founder of Kid Serve, a San Francisco nonprofit that works with youth to create art around the Bay Area, admitted to police that he had child porn images on his iMac and that he had been collecting them for more than a decade.

The city had long subsidized the nonprofit, giving it $53,506 this year, yet it has since cut funding for the organization.
