Allison Bayliss is still missing
Early this morning, police expanded the search in San Francisco for missing Danville teen Allison Bayliss, whose bike was located at Crissy Field Tuesday morning -- a day after the 15-year-old was reported missing. However, Danville Police Chief Steve Simpkins is now saying the case is not criminal, but rather a "personal" matter.

It's "absolutely not criminal," he told reporters.

But that gave Bayliss' friends and family -- who are puzzled by her disappearance -- little comfort. Her father, David, has been combing the waterfront in San Francisco since finding her purple and black Diamondback bicycle locked up at a bike rack at Crissy Field.

"We Just hope and pray that Allison is alive," he told reporters.

The Coast Guard and SFPD have search and rescue boats looking for Bayliss. The CHP, park police, and SFPD expanded the search to San Francisco's Ocean Beach, according to media outlets.

Even Bayliss' classmates have joined the search.

The San Ramon Valley sophomore was last seen on Monday at about 8 a.m., near her locker. Her father later found a note by her computer that led police to San Francisco's Crissy Field.

"I had left for work before she left for school, so we're hopeful that she came out and is doing something," David Bayliss says. "I don't know what, but we're trying to locate her."
