Giants Fans Beaten by Dodgers Fans, One in Critical Condition

L.A. Dodgers fans....poor sports even when they win.

We knew being a Giants fan was torture -- metaphorically speaking -- but last night the pain went a little too deep after two Dodger fans let loose on three Giants fans after the San Francisco team lost in the season opener.

You'd think they would have been satisfied with victory -- but apparently, Los Angeles fans wanted more. Two Dodgers enthusiasts attacked some Giants fan outside the stadium last night, leaving one in critical condition.

The Los Angeles Police Department told SF Weekly at noon that they still have no identities or arrests.

According to news reports, Dodgers hooligans started yelling slurs at three men in Giants apparel in the stadium parking lot -- and then beat them. While no video of the fight has emerged yet, we can extrapolate that it was brutal, given the Dodgers' propensity to kick each others' asses.

Here we see how insane and stupid drunk Dodger fans can be.

And since the cops have no yet caught these idiots, we're thinking they must have made a more effective getaway than these Dodgers who ran across the field at a Padres game. Note how the security doesn't actually catch the guy. He falls down first.

This is a very poorly written opinion piece. Dodger fans propensity for fighting eachother... Lol... How quickly you seem to forget the Giants fan who murdered an 18 year old fellow Giants fan at AT&T Park in 2008. Do us all a favor and do some research and try to write an objective piece instead of making wildly broad generalizations. No need to paint with such a broad brush. You also failed to mention that there were 4 Giants fans and 2 Dodger fans in this incident. The poor guys' friends left him to get stomped, unbelievable. Some pals.

I can't help but think that this article make the elementary mistake of making huge generalizations that will only fuel more dumb idiots (on each side) to do more dumb things. When Ms. Smiley mentions, "You'd think they would have been satisfied with victory -- but apparently, Los Angeles fans wanted more," she alludes to the fact that all Dodger fans wanted to beat the crud out of other fans. Not so, and I wish sweeping generalizations would be left for the dumb idiots out there to make; it's a shame she had to stoop to this level.

Being passive does not correct the path, either. I lived in LA for 5 years and witnessed first-hand that this is, unfortunately, NOT a generalization. Sometimes, you have to plain fight back. Simple as that.

Agreed Becky, I heard about the story and somehow ended up at this site after googling.'Giants fan critical condition '. Physical violence is unacceptable but so is making generalizations about an entire fan base. I'm assuming this is more of a blog type site and not a news source, but still would be nice if they made an attempt at journalistic integrity. Time to find another link to an actual news item on the story.
