Family Pup Stolen During Home Burglary
| Looking for Zoe |
Zoe was taken Monday afternoon when Cox's Livermore house was burglarized in broad daylight. When Cox's fiance came home that evening, he found all of the doors had been unlocked and Zoe was gone. Cox had left the 2-year-old dog in the bathroom with her bed behind a small safety gate.
Although the gate was still up after the burglary, Zoe was gone.
"She's just like a child to us and we'd do anything to have her back," Cox reportedly said.
Little Zoe was last wearing a pink collar with brown polka dots, but no identification tag.
Besides the dog, the burglars took Cox's jewelry, a laptop, camera, television, and some personal documents. On Tuesday, Cox learned some of her property had been recovered in a Hayward parking lot.
"Who would take somebody's dog? I mean she's like a family member," Cox said.
