Cops Suspended While FBI Investigates Drug Bust

The officers involved have been reassigned to administrative jobs while the District Attorney's Office and the FBI investigates the allegations. Earlier this week, Public Defender Jeff Adachi released footage of police officers conducting a warrantless narcotics search at the Henry Hotel on Sixth Street. Adachi says the cops didn't get consent from residents before searching the apartments.
They then lied on written police reports regarding the searches, Adachi said.
Since then, the District Attorney's Office and the FBI have launched their own separate investigations into the incident.
Adachi has said DA George Gascón should not lead an investigation, considering he was the police chief at the time of the drug busts.
Gascón's office has insisted there is no conflict of interest, and he is moving forward with an investigation.
